We are Officially a 501(c)(3)

March 22, 2017 By Thomas Petty Leave a Comment

We are thrilled to announce that the IRS has approved Partners for Change as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization!!!

We are so thankful for the opportunities this will present to help even more Tri-Valley residents who struggle with poverty. DONATIONS MADE DIRECTLY TO PARTNERS FOR CHANGE ARE NOW TAX DEDUCTIBLE! Please consider donating today to help us celebrate this big milestone, and be sure to check with your company about gift matching

We owe a debt of gratitude to Asbury United Methodist Church for being our fiscal agent this past year and are excited to step out on our own!  Our new status will allow us to:

  • Apply for more grants – up to now our options were severely limited, as most grantmakers want you to be a non-profit organization
  • Accept Interns – College students can receive credit to intern with Partners for Change.

Thank you for your support in our first year. Please take a look at our first Annual Report to see what we have been up to since last February. We are happy to continue bringing hope and help to residents of the Tri-Valley!

Partners for Change Is…

A community-based  mentorship program that assists Tri-Valley families in achieving financial self-sufficiency. Through intentional partnerships participants work together to build a strong community network.  Through this network, participants work together to strengthen their life skills “tool kit” and set goals to help them improve in the areas they wish to grow.  After completing a 14-20-week transformational course, participants graduate into Phase Two where they develop the leadership skills required to support each other and those in the greater tri valley area through community outreach.

Each week, the transformative cohort meets to build friendship and do the hard work required to achieve ones personal goals, as well as to explore the greater tri valley’s community needs.  This phase, which typically takes 18-24 months helps the entire community to begin to develop a critical eye toward the challenges and barriers that make it difficult for all to move beyond systemic economic poverty.

Partners for Change Tri-Valley is an affiliate of Networx, USA.
